That was my first thought when I heard the overlapping generation doctrine-- "That's crap!" I was out one year later. -

by cultBgone init's finally hit mainstream media in the us!
let's hope some savvy investigative journalists see a pulitzer for opening up this story to cover the us and worldwide cases.. jehovahs-witnesses-face-child-sex-abuse-investigation-in-australia/2015/08/14/.
everyone who is able should hurry up and post comments on their website as the pro-jw forces have rallied and are trying to squash this as libel.

GTTM: i menitoned to her that she doesn't want to be intimate and she says nothing...i asked her why. she said go ask my therapist. i saiid i am asking you. i then said i know why.....because you consider me an apostate. she said that that there are thing i don't provide for her ( we all know what that is). i said i support you in doing it, i don't stop you. i told her intamacy (i.e. sexual relations) is very important in a marriage ( the more the better
she ddn't says nothing...she hung up the phone. this truely sucks, i hate the piece of shite cult for ruining my marriageWhat Steve said, and for goodness sake, stop having conversations about intimacy on the telephone! SMH

The world is full of every day heroes. We cross paths with some of them right here every day. It reminds me of a favorite poem:
What is needed for dramatic change is an accumulation of acts, adding, adding to, adding more, continuing. We know that it does not take everyone on Earth to bring justice and peace, but only a small, determined group who will not give up during the first, second, or hundredth gale.
One of the most calming and powerful actions you can do to intervene in a stormy world is to stand up and show your soul. Soul on deck shines like gold in dark times. The light of the soul throws sparks, can send up flares, builds signal fires, causes proper matters to catch fire. To display the lantern of soul in shadowy times like these – to be fierce and to show mercy toward others; both are acts of immense bravery and greatest necessity.
Struggling souls catch light from other souls who are fully lit and willing to show it. If you would help to calm the tumult, this is one of the strongest things you can do.
Excerpts from, You Were Made for This, by Clarissa Pinkola Estes, Ph.D

Psychology: Sick of Elder Low tone slow paced talk
by Aprostate Exam innow after 21 years in professional psychology/humanities, i love talking to brothers that adopt a slow pace in speech, and low tone of voice when they deal with the rank and cold un-associated ones.
my mirroring their present state in personality seems to psych them out for a bit.
i then tap into my fast injection of logical sense, that throws them off.

Perfect! That tone and cadence is what turns JW audiences into glazed-eyed bobble- headed zombies! -

Name Things You Can't Do If You Are JW...or not supposed to do
by minimus inwitnesses are not supposed to stand for the national anthem but can stand for a flag salute.. you can't say bless you if someone sneezes, good luck!, or " you too" if someone says, happy holidays.. it is a religion of cannot dos.
everything is pagan and worldly.. what are things that are unacceptable to jehovah's witnesses that really are no big deal to everyone else?

It's a done deal. I signed my letters today, and my attorney is mailing them by Certified Mail Return Receipt Requested together with his cover letter which states:
The Body of Elders of the (named) Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses
c/o (named elder), Congregation Secretary
Address
RE: RESIGNATION-SAIL AWAY
Dear Mr. (named elder):
I represent Sail Away of (home town). She has expressed her intention to resign as a member of the Jehovah’s Witness Watchtower Bible and Tract Society, et al, the Christian Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses, et al, the (named) Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses and the (named sister) Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Her letter of resignation is enclosed.
My client has asked me to inform you in no uncertain terms that she does not want to be contacted by any member of your congregation or your organization acting in an official capacity on behalf of an elder, the congregation, or the church. Her letter clearly states her wishes in this regard. Therefore, members of your organization should not attempt to contact her. Please understand that I will commence legal action or pursue other legal recourse without further notice if you or any member, church elder or other member of your church acting for your congregation contact, harass, threaten or intimidate my client in any way.
You or your legal representative may contact me if you have any questions whatsoever.
Very truly yours,
(My attorney who was flabbergasted by my description of the shunning process and the cult-like nature of the organization and who would not accept payment for writing this letter)

A Techno-phobe seeks advice.
by Phizzy inthis may seem simple to all you young folks(under 50) out there, but this old fart is just wondering, how much can people see on facebook in the way of comments, if you have privacy up and running so that, i thought, only those you have friended can see what you comment ?.
i am not overly bothered, but it occurs to me that since in recent times i have been more active on fb, my outspoken comments against the jw scam may be visible to those who are not actually "friends" ???.
i am just wondering if i should expect (as in monty python) the spanish inquisition ?.

Phizzy, I have been posting ex-JW stuff on Facebook for four years. My privacy setting is Friends of Friends, and I haven't been outed yet. One thing I did was to BLOCK every JW I knew. They are wiley-- using maiden names, no photos, using work town instead of hometown, etc. Systematically BLOCK them all!
I'm on Facebook for my kids and grandson. Live your life. Just be "cautious as a serpent" as they say.

I personally trust this version more:
http://www.humanmetrics.com/cgi-win/jtypes2.asp
It would be interesting if anyone else tries & compared
Still ISFJ, but more strongly weighted toward Observant and Feeling than Judging which seems more accurate to me.
